12 Disciples Psychological Testing
In attempting to find a job that God has given me a passion to do, this portion of Joyce Meyer's "How to Succeed at Being Yourself" message made me just take a breath and laugh :-) Hearing it would probably be more awesome than reading it, but regardless, it's still good!
"Quite worrying about everything that's wrong with you. God chooses people that are a little off the wall and weird to use."
"Here's a letter to Jesus from the Jordan Management Consultant Firm. When they heard He was choosing disciples, they thought they would give their advice on the 12 men that He chose. They were concerned that He made some serious errors. ..." :-)
(The letter...)
"Thank You Jesus for submitting the resumes of the 12 men you picked for management positions in your new organization. All of them have now taken our battery of tests and each of them has had a personal interview with our psychologists and vocational aptitude consultants. And it is the staff's decision that most of Your nominees are lacking in background education and vocational aptitude for the type of enterprise You're undertaking. They do not seem to have the ability to work together as a team. We would recommend that you continue Your search for persons of experience and manager-ability in prove and capability. Simon Peter for example is emotionally unstable and given to fits of temper. Andrew has absolutely no leadership qualities. The two brothers, James and John, the sons of Zebedee, placed personal interest above company loyalty. Thomas demonstrates a questioning attitude that will definitely undermine moral. And we feel that it is our duty to let you know that Matthew has been blacklisted by the greater Jerusalem better business bureau. James, the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus definitely have radical leanings and they both register a high score on the manic-depressant scale. One of your candidates however does show great potential. He is a man of ability and resourcefulness. He meets people well and has a keen business mind. He has contacts in high places, is highly motivated, ambitious and responsible. The only one of the 12 that we can recommend is Judas. Let him be Your controller and right hand man and You will flourish. We wish you well in your new venture Jesus."
(End of Letter)
"Isn't it good that God sees the heart and not the flesh?! And so many times, it is true that people would not choose who He chooses." -Joyce Meyer
For those of you who don't know why this is so funny...Judas was the disciple who betrayed Jesus by handing Him over to the religious leaders. Of course, this had to happen in order for God's will to be done, but isn't it interesting and awesome how God picks people who the world would not? :-) I know that I have Many 'limitations' so to say and many psychological problems, but I have a Father who loves me, has rescued me, will never give up on me or stop helping me, and is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords!!!! Amazing!
